Discover Empowering Bodyweight Exercises !!
I want to share with you some simple yet truly effective bodyweight exercises that will definitely shed the excess fat from your body.
When I was teaching high school students, My favorite day of the semester was the first day of school. This was a great day because this was the day I would discuss my expectations for the class and also discuss how the students could be successful not only in my class but in life! We would always get around to physical fitness as an important component of one's success. Why is this you may ask? Well, the more fit you are the better you will feel. And this feeling of energy and enthusiasm will carry over to all areas of your life.
So during these discussions I always told my students I was going to write a fitness book and the title would be "Eat Less, Move More."
Essentially that is what I want to talk with you about today.
First... you must evaluate your diet if you want to be physically fit. What are you eating? Are you eating junk food all day long? Are you carb loading at every meal? If the answer is yes... and I presume it is... you must tweak your diet just a bit.
So what should you be eating?
Well... let's start with protein!
You need to be eating eggs and meat and other high protein foods.
Fruits including berries, grapefruit, green apples, avocado and fresh coconut are awesome for you!
Eat veggies!!
What to drink? Drink water and green tea. Please stay away from all the carbonated drinks and even the sports drinks have major amounts of sugar. Sugar will destroy your physical fitness goals if you abuse it!
Also I would recommend eating raw nuts. Almonds, pecans, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds are excellent sources of protein for your body.
These guidelines will get you started feeling better and not so sluggish and you will begin to see your body fat disappear...guaranteed!!
What about the "move more" part of this equation. Well... I would suggest any cardiovascular exercise you like and will stay doing, is the one you should begin with. But if you're not sure exactly what you should do let me suggest a few bodyweight exercises that I know will work for you.
1. Daily Walking
I know it doesn't sound real glamourous or exciting and you probably won't see any infomercials suggesting you walk but I'm telling you what works. This not only is a good exercise to start with, it also is a great time to reflect and be thankful for all the wonderful blessings you have in your life and to visualize your fitness goals. Actually this is a great time to visualize not only your fitness goals but all your dreams and aspirations for your overall life. When you walk, make sure you walk outside... breathe the fresh air deep into your lungs and feel your body cleansing itself.
2. Push-ups
Again, not a real exciting bodyweight exercise but these work your entire upper body. Why worry yourself on doing 10 separate exercises for your upperbody, when you can knock it out with one! The pushup has been a staple in my workouts since I was 8 years old. Have some fun with these...shoot for 25 then bump it up to 50. When you can knock out 100 without stopping your upperbody will be plenty strong. 3. Bodyweight Squats
This bodyweight exercise will strengthen every part of your legs. The movement is fairly simple... keep your back straight and squat down until your legs are parallel to the floor... then stand back up. You should continue to push yourself with these as well. I have read about wrestlers who do sets of 500 of these squats... so get to it!!
4. Wall Sits
Another great bodyweight exercise is wall sits.
You basically sit on the wall like you are in a chair though without the chair. I discovered this exercise when I was fairly young but I have to tell you it's a killer. I would suggest you work up to a few minutes for each set. This is a great exercise to build overall leg strength and power.
5. Rope Jumping
This is a great exercise that can and will get your body moving. This will help turn up your metabolism and help assist you in blow torching off the excess fat your body is carrying around. Give this exercise some honest work and you will see results!
Again these are just a few exercises that you can implement into your daily routine TODAY... that will get you on your way to improved physical fitness and health!
