I must tell you my experience with increasing my vertical jump and overall quickness. I actually discovered these exercises during my junior year in high school. I had been injured in football and began rehabbing my broken ankle for the next season.

I had played basketball growing up as well though I truly believed I would have more of a future in football since I was only about 6 feet tall.

During that off-season, I began working out and became obsessed with the thought of slam dunking the basketball.

Now mind you this wasn't the first time I had thought about increasing my vertical jump but this time was a bit different... I had a specific goal... I wanted to dunk it!!

So I began trying different exercises that started me on my journey towards my first slam dunk.

At the time, I was playing a lot of pick-up games at a local park and that was the first location I actually began practicing my jumping on a court. The goals were actually a bit shorter than regulation goals but I didn't care.. I was still getting close to the actual dunk.

I remember trying and trying in between actual games we were playing. I'm fairly confidant I'm not the only kid who fantasized about dunking the basketball... but I can tell you I'm one of the few who discovered how to actually do it!!

Anyway... I continued to work at the exercises and during the spring semester of my junior year I was able to slam dunk the ball once and awhile but nothing on a regular basis.

So I quit!!... Are you kidding? Hell no I didn't quit! At this point I knew I was doing the right exercises and I was beginning to see results... why would I quit now?

I continued practicing and stayed diligent with the exercises.

I remember as a younger kid... Oh I would say middle school age... I would go over to one of my buddies house and we would lower his basketball goal to about 7 or 8 feet and have dunk contests.

This was another major reason why I had success as I grew older. I'll explain that a little later.

Anyway...I continued working and during my freshman year of college I had increased my vertical jump so much that I was able to do pretty much any dunk I wanted.

Two handed dunk, reverse two handed, double pump two handed dunk, one handed tomahawk... you name it I could probably do it.

These exercises also increased my quickness and overall leg strength that transferred to other sports as well.
